Pouring Concrete.

My previous post explained the slab system we were using and now it’s time for the personal post. The foundation was luckily poured on a Saturday so our whole family could be present to watch. I love that we’re able to involve our boys in the building of this home and little do they know, they are going to be doing a lot of work in the future.

Watching concrete being poured is interesting for a kid. They pump it in via system that looks like a crane and we had four concrete mixers on the jobsite at once. As an adult, you look at it and realize what a dirty, cold, wet job these guys are doing and wonder if they just trash their clothing after a pour.

We truly appreciate all of the hard work and effort put into this foundation and the nice smooth finish the slab currently has. These concrete floors, which may or may not be diamond polished depending on budget, will be a major feature of the home. We've now done several homes with a Tella Firma slab and the first one still looks perfect 9 years later. Fingers crossed.
